Healthy Options

Healthy Options is a great wee charity that operates out of Oban and supports hundreds of people in our community.  For years they have offered a 12- week programme delivered by specialist exercise professionals based around the ethos of self-management, supporting people who live with a large variety of health conditions.  They have recently launched a self-referral programme (THRIVE) which is great news for anyone wanting to continue and sustain their health journey!  Lots more info on their website: www.lornhealthyoptions.co.uk

Who doesn’t love a trip to the movies? Our local cinema hosts a wide range of shows from classic monthly musicals to blockbusters to independent/arthouse features to screenings from the National Theatre.  The cinema is embedded in the community, giving regular support to various charities.  It also plays a quietly significant role as the first place of employment for some of our local teens. Tucked away in Taynuilt, the Old Garden Nursery is worth taking the time to discover.  You can enjoy a wee walk, watching out for the large variety of birds in the area.  Dave Croucher, a gardener of many years experience, is always happy to share his knowledge, whether it’s of the birds or discussing what plants may work for your vision of your garden.
